Comenius 2.1 project: SCENARIO WRITING intensive course NR. 112590-CP-1-2003-1-NL-COMENIUS-C21
"Scenario Writing: development of an intensive course on the future of education" project sets to develop a course that would involve teachers in an active process of scenario writing focusing on the future of education in Europe. The project thus uses scenarios as tools to create new perspectives on the future in a changing society. This proposal aimed at the development and piloting of a course to enhance 'innovation'-competences (the teacher as 'change agent') by using scenario writing as an analysing and reflective tool on a personal and collaborative level and as a didactic instrument. The course was intended for teachers, teacher educators, heads of schools and other educational decision makers on a local or national level. The participants were actively involved in the development, writing and presentation of scenarios for the future of (teacher) education and in defining the competences teachers will need in the future. The result was an evaluated course (in 4 languages), teaching guidelines, and scenario descriptions written by the participants and a website on scenarios in education. The course was developed and run by a network of teacher educators from eight countries.
